What's Your Problem?

Ya know, I just love it out here in blogland. But have you ever noticed that everyone is so dang on nice? Everything is always hunky dory and puppy dog tails and butterflies and rainbows and all that other fluffy stuff.

Even when we "bitch" in a post we tend to downplay how we feel. I do it too. I find myself thinking, "Should I blog about this?" "Will I offend anyone?" And I know that lots of us blog as part of a business (shameless plug, check out my store here!) so we do have to consider how what we put on our blog might affect the business. I get it.

But today, I want to know, what's bugging you?

Here's my list. Warning: these are totally random.

1. Do people still have to pass a driving test to get a license? Ya coulda fooled me! As I get older I find myself getting more anal retentive and bad drivers really, really, really bug me. I don't get why people can't use turn signals, don't stop at stop signs or red lights, and feel the need to cut me off and then give me the one finger wave. I kinda get the whole road rage thing, sometimes I too just want to stop in the middle of the road and talk ugly to bad drivers.

2. I don't get the (not so now) new Wendy's fries. The ones with the sea salt and au natural or whatever they are marketing them as. To me they taste like cardboard. I really wish Wendy's would stop pretending that everyone likes them better and just go back to the old ones. Why mess up a good thing? Well Wendy's, that's exactly what you did in my opinion.

3.  It really bugs me when people say they'll call and they don't. No, sillyhead, I'm not talking about a boy. I hate it when I do shows or whatever and someone will tell me how fabulous my stuff is and say that they will get in touch with me about an opportunity, but they never do...

4. The radio stations around here have really latched on to the new (again, not so new by now) Adele song, Rolling in the Deep. Me, not feeling it at all. Love Adele, just not that tune. Of course it's rolling 'round deep in my head right about now!

How about you? What's bugging you? Don't hold back. Now's your chance...Bitch session is er, in session!

UPDATE: Calling All Crafters and Shoppers!

Are you crafty? Do you sew, crochet, knit, use a glue gun? Do you shop?

Seriously people, how can you say no to all of the above??

Well, whatever your area of expertise, your action is required.

My girlfriend Chinamommy is having a hat drive for orphans in China. You can read more about that here. The rules are pretty loose, but I think one thing to clarify when we say "hat" we mean something that is toboggan style, not a Harley Davidson ballcap. You understand? You can make the hat yourself, or if your hat making skills are sub-par (that would be me), you can purchase a hat to donate.

Come on friends, I've seen these cute little hats at the Dollar Tree so keep your eyes open. I mean, it's only summer and 90 degrees out so the stores will be having the fall items out soon. But seriously, get a toboggan from the DT, maybe embellish it with something super cute. Ooh, project!! All sizes of hats, from baby to teen, are accepted. I will get clarification on the type of hats that she is looking for since all sizes are being taken. UPDATE: I got a confirmation from chinamommy that because it can get cold in the orphanages, she is taking donations of hats that are fluffy and warm. Just like your heart will feel after you make your donation. :)

Just look at how excited these guys are! Below is a pic of some of the hats that chinamommy sent last year. Doesn't it just warm your heart? :)

Giveaway from Pretty Things

Hey ya'll! I just came across the most awesome giveaway! Lori over at Pretty Things is at it again. She went to the Bead and Button Show and is giving away half of her stash to 9, yes, 9!! lucky winners. I don't know how she does it because I would be keeping all that fabulousness to myself if it were me. :) Ok, may-be I would share but it would be super hard to decide what to part with!

So, head on over here AND also here to win yourself some of those fab-u-lous beads 'n things! There's also a super silly video of Lori and her friend at the show that you can check out. Isn't it just something about beads that brings out the silliness in a girl? :)  I'm sure that you non-beaders out there can so not relate, so, I want you to do this exercise for me. Think of your  most favorite thing/hobby/activity in the whole wide world...got it? Now, think of the rush and excitement that it gives you when you're doing it, thinking about it, whatever! Now, are ya'll with me? That is how I feel about beads and all things jewelry making related.

Anyhoo, I posted a couple of my favorite mixes below. I really, really, really LUV (did I say really, really?!) those vinyl flowers from Beadin' Path. By themselves, you might think, "eh", but watch the video to see the necklace that the girl from Beadin' Path has on. Fab-u-lous!

Bachelorette Party!

Recently I had the honor of planning a bachelorette party for a good friend of mine. Yep, I’m one of them….a planner. While I’d like to be a carefree and fly by the seat ‘o my pants kinda girl, that’s just not me. So, I was more than happy to take the reins from her sister who, not being from the area, was totally clueless and in need of some assistance.

You’re probably thinking…a bachelorette party? What kinda wild and crazy story is she gonna post about? Well, not really a wild and crazy story to post. No strippers, no weekend in Vegas, no getting drunk and being left on the top of the roof kinda stories do we have to tell.

While we had an excellent time, it’s a whole different kind of party when everyone at the party is 35+ in age than when they’re in their 20’s. We kicked the night off with drinks and “nibbles” (my friend Kelly, her word, I love it!!) at Kelly’s house. We then went to see the movie Bridesmaids. We ended the night at a local bar/restaurant called Kickback Jack’s for more drinks and nibbles. The food was excellent!

But let me back it up to what I think is the highlight of the evening…Bridesmaids movie.

Have you seen this movie? Surely by now you’ve at least heard about it if you haven’t seen it. It was the most hilarious movie I have seen in a long time. I would go to see it again, and that’s saying a lot because usually once I’ve seen a movie, I’m done. It started off a little slow for me, but once the laughs began, they did not stop. Now, yes, the comedy was at times, gross and inappropriate but I laughed the whole time. And the movie actually is a little deeper than how it’s portrayed in the commercials. I mean, gross and inappropriate sells a lot more at the movies than deep and moving. Right?

Have you seen this movie? Your thoughts?

Teaser: You and your girls will never respond in the same way to the song Hold On by Wilson Phillips ever again. Now you gotta see the movie to know what I'm talking about. :)

If you haven't seen it, check out the trailer below. :)

My Boyfriend is a Bear

Apparently my boyfriend is a bear...that can only explain the sounds coming out of his mouth at this ungodly hour...which is the reason why I am up at said ungodly hour. I dropped him a not-so-subtle hint by putting some of those nose strips that you're supposed to wear at night in his stocking from Santa but someone didn't get the hint. Anyone need an unopened box of nose strips?

So, I'm doing a little channel surfing. My choices this morning are limited. VH-1 Top 20 Video Countdown, that'll work, since it's the only time you ever actually see music videos any more these days. Remember when MTV actually played music videos, like, all day long? What's up with that? And how can they actually call themselves MTV anymore? I guess I'm getting old. I just don't get some of the music these days. Maybe I'm just grouchy since I'm working on three hours sleep.

I do hope that you have a restful night. I'm about to pass out on the couch.

Baby, if you're reading this it's all in good fun, but I really, really couldn't sleep!

Need YOUR Help!

I've really gotten into couponing. I mean, what's better than something for almost nothin'? :) One of the sites I frequent is Hip2Save. The gals over there are giving back to those communities in the South that have been hardest hit by the tornados and flooding of the past couple months. To help out, I am collecting donations that will be mailed to them to disperse. Read more about that, here.

I would love for you guys and gals to help us out. If you are local (Piedmont Triad, NC), I am happy to meet you to pickup your donations,  just email me (leelucreations@yahoo.com). If you are not local, there is an address that you can send your donations to directly. For more details, see below. If all your questions are not answered, just email me.

Thanks in advance for all of your help!! Remember that no donation is too small...or too big! :)
