Girl Time!

Today I'm getting some much needed time with my girls. Mani-pedi's and then lunch, gossip, and drinks! I dubbed it our Sex and the City outing.

One of my girls said that she would be wearing her sweats, to which I asked the question, "Would Carrie be seen in sweats??". Not that I care but this is our Sex and the City day and we must look the part. Of course they all inquired as to whether I would be wearing my Manolo Blahnik's with my slacks. Um, no, I don't have any Manolo Blahnik's or Jimmy Choo's hence the joke, silly. But if I did have a pair, it would be the ones below.

Anyhoo, of course one of my crafty (aka smartass) girls was able to dig up this pic of Carrie in sweats-a sweatshirt at least!

What are your plans for the day?

Vampire Diaries was New Last Night!!

Vampires are so in these days. Do you think it's because they are so darn sexy?!? At least my boys from Vampire Diaries are...

Finally, it was a new episode last night. They've been playing repeats since before Christmas. Enough already! I just love this guy, Ian Somerhalder, aka Damon. He's super hot. And in this episode he had to kill his lover, Rose, because she got bitten by a werewolf which happens to be fatal to vamps so he was in super bad boy mode. Feelin' guilty and all that since the werewolf was actually trying to bite him.

Isn't he a hottie, with those gorgeous eyes and cute crooked smile? *Sigh*...Another one of my guilty pleasures...I'd like to indulge. ;)

Random Things...Wednesday Edition

Just a few random things from me to you.

1.  Have you had these? Pecan Crowns from Weight Watchers. I'm always on a diet and these were on sale at my local grocery for .89! Normally they are almost $3/bag so I snagged a few. And they are pretty good. Great for a quick chocolate fix.

2.  Have you seen this vintage travel bar from GingersGirl on Etsy? Fan-freakin-tas-tic! You can take the party on the road with you-just promise not to get crazy until you get to your destination. It even comes with a deck of playing cards. It's a party in a box.

3.  I'm secretly a fan of the Jersey Shore. I want to turn away but just can't.
Please don't think less of me.

4.  I'm going to see these guys in concert in July. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Donnie, I still love you!
I don't care so much about the BSB but I am still lovin' my NKOTB!! Aahhhhh! (Insert school girl scream here.)

5.  I'm planning a wedding and have discovered so many resources on the net. I like The Knot, and The Broke Ass Bride (insert my pic here). Do you know of other websites or resources that might be helpful? I really need ideas geared towards a budget because I will only do this once and I'm not trying to spend a couple years salaries on one day.  It amazes me how much people are able to spend on their weddings. I was watching Rich Bride, Poor Bride and this one couple spent over $50,000 on their wedding! Wow!

6.  Speaking of which, you can win this BOA yoga bag or this organic scarf courtesy of  The Broke Ass Bride. It's easy, details here. And if you haven't checked their website out, do so! It's hilarious!! Great for laughs even if you're not planning a wedding.
7.  Did you know that your pooch can also tie the knot? I just found out also! I wonder how that works...
Do you think they write their own vows? Check out some of the furry nuptuals here.
6.  I am so craving this right about now....

Ripped Off by the Golden Arches

*Sigh*...*deep breath*...Tonight after work I went walking with my friend Amber. Yeah! Applause...

But then on the way home, I was tempted by the Golden Arches. I mean, I have to pass right by them and they called out to me "You don't have to dine alone. Come dine with us!" My response was to immediately veer into the drive thru lane...thus still dining alone but whatever. Before I knew it, I ordered a double cheeseburger! This is my Achillees heel of fast food. I love 'em. So, this is my order, one double cheeseburger with only mustard, lettuce, and cheese and one yogart parfait. I look at my order on the screen and to my dismay I was charged 20 extra cents for lettuce. Ok, so, I didn't get the pickles, ketchup, and onions, saving Mickey D's at least twenty cents, I would think. I mean, doesn't this wash out to an even trade?

I must find another route home, lol. :)

Bead Soup Blog Party Meet -N- Greet

Have you met Charlene over at Grey Girl Studios? She's my partner for the Bead Soup Blog Party that is being hosted by Lori Anderson of Pretty Things. Lori threw us for a loop and paired us with folks that are tres different in style from our own. No pressure!

So, I've been digging through my stash and thinking about what to send Charlene. I can tell from her blog that she likes cats and I happen to have a kitty-esque pendant or three in my stash. But she likes designs that are "simple, not flashy or fancy" so I'm just not sure. I'm all about the bling and bein' seen baby so everything I have is a bit, um, blingy. I know that even if I send Charlene a box 'o rocks she will do her thing and make 'em fab-u-lous!

I can't wait to see what Charlene sends me!
Start checking your mail next week Charlene for your box of rocks. ;)

Pardon My Mess!

Just discovered the Blogger templates and other editing tools. Um, I know, I'm really late to jump on this bandwagon. I've been wanting a different look for a while so I've jumped on board. While I'm doing so, please pardon my mess. Thanks!

Snow Snow Go Away!

Much of the country has had their share of winter weather in the last few days, maybe even weeks. After days of weather forecasters teasing that we would have "significigant snowfall" it finally snowed a mere 2 inches-at most-here yesterday.  Alas, this morning I awoke to an icy, yucky mess. I love snow...I do not love ice. And of course I have a job where life as we know it will cease if I don't show up to work. :)

So, I scraped the icy snow from my car, threw the shovel in the backseat and attempted to drive out of my parking lot. No go. I dropped the Neon down to second gear and hit the road, bad tires and all, with no further problem. Once I got out of my lot and onto the main road, my route wasn't too treacherous. But still, it would've been nice to have one of these to get to work this morning!

How was your commute?

In the Mood for a Little Cha Cha?

It's been a while since I made a new piece. I have to be in the mood to create, I can't force it. And with the holidays and people over I had to clean and put all my beads and stuff away. I'm the kinda gal that if I can't see it, I don't remember I have it to do something with it. :)

Anyhoo, here's a little sneak peak of what I made just in time for Valentine's Day, or anytime, really. A perfect little reminder to love and be nice. I know that sometimes I sure need that reminder. :)

You can see more of this bracelet in my Etsy shop.

Happy New Year and Good News!

I'm sure you're tired of hearing it by now but I'm gonna say it anyway. Happy New Year! :)  I hope your holidays have been awesome but now it's time to get back to the grind. Ugh, my work sucks but I've gotta do it. It's the only way I can feed my bead obsession. Oh, and there are those pesky bills...

I've got a headache today on one side 'o my head that won't go away! The good news is that I've hung out ALL day long in my pj's, haven't even left the house today. It's gray and rainy here anyway so no need to get out.

Oh! I hinted about it in a previous post but I have superfragalisticexpalidocous fantasic news! Are you sitting down? I'll wait...............Are you ready?

Well, my boyfriend proposed to me on Christmas Day 2010 ( I truly think that's the reason it snowed here, lol. We only had a 5% chance of snow and got about 6 inches on Christmas weekend.) It was a magical moment, sitting on the couch in our pj's, snow coming down, and out comes the little box, wrapped to perfection so much so that I know that he didn't wrap it himself! And guess what? The ring was hidden at my house for a whole month before I received it! He's sneaky like that, I tell ya!

Here's the ring: Is that tacky posting it here? I don't care, here it is anyway. I love it!

I'm so excited! I've got plans to make but can't seem to get him to confirm a month let alone an actual date. I'm hoping for October 2011. I mean, it took him 12 years to propose so I guess I can give him a few  more days to digest what he's done, lol.

So, I need wedding ideas because this girlfriend is on a budget! Ideas, please!

And tell all your friends about my Etsy shop! :)
