Happy New Year and Good News!

I'm sure you're tired of hearing it by now but I'm gonna say it anyway. Happy New Year! :)  I hope your holidays have been awesome but now it's time to get back to the grind. Ugh, my work sucks but I've gotta do it. It's the only way I can feed my bead obsession. Oh, and there are those pesky bills...

I've got a headache today on one side 'o my head that won't go away! The good news is that I've hung out ALL day long in my pj's, haven't even left the house today. It's gray and rainy here anyway so no need to get out.

Oh! I hinted about it in a previous post but I have superfragalisticexpalidocous fantasic news! Are you sitting down? I'll wait...............Are you ready?

Well, my boyfriend proposed to me on Christmas Day 2010 ( I truly think that's the reason it snowed here, lol. We only had a 5% chance of snow and got about 6 inches on Christmas weekend.) It was a magical moment, sitting on the couch in our pj's, snow coming down, and out comes the little box, wrapped to perfection so much so that I know that he didn't wrap it himself! And guess what? The ring was hidden at my house for a whole month before I received it! He's sneaky like that, I tell ya!

Here's the ring: Is that tacky posting it here? I don't care, here it is anyway. I love it!

I'm so excited! I've got plans to make but can't seem to get him to confirm a month let alone an actual date. I'm hoping for October 2011. I mean, it took him 12 years to propose so I guess I can give him a few  more days to digest what he's done, lol.

So, I need wedding ideas because this girlfriend is on a budget! Ideas, please!

And tell all your friends about my Etsy shop! :)

  1. Congratulations! The ring is gorgeous, good job Mister! Octobers in the south are a beuatiful time for weddings. Don't wait to late to set a date though, your choices for services and vendors will be greatly limited. I used to have my own wedding planning business when I lived in Columbus OH. (market for planners is slim here) Congrats again.

  2. OHHHH!! CONGRATS!!! The ring is beautiful (and NO it is not tacky to post it here!) There are so many great wedding sites now and I sometimes wish I could do my wedding all over again! But, it is possible to do it on a budget. I did mine on $3000! I am such a bargain hunter! I had everything I wanted - a big reception with lots of food, a beautiful cake, a gorgeous dress, live flowers, and 300 guests! The only thing I would change is just making it more ME! But, that wasn't really the trend in 2000... just have fun, be yourself, and KNOW that you can do it all on a little budget (I had family and friends who did all the food and the centerpieces) I also got my dress from a shop that was going out of business so I scored it for half price!
