10 Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Company Than People
10. My girls are always happy to see me when I get home from work. When I walk through that door after being away it’s like a party. Cue the music!
9. They don’t criticize my driving or use the imaginary passenger brake. They just love being along for the ride.
8. They never change the TV channel. WeTV Bridezillas marathon all Sunday long? They’re cool with it.
7. They love my cooking-even when I don't.
6. They don’t mind it when I bring home more beads and crafty goodness.
5. They let me sleep in.
4. They are happy to go wherever I go, whenever I go. No questions asked.
3. They don’t care if the house isn’t clean and in fact, are happy to clean up after me. Spill something? They'll have it cleaned up in sixy seconds or less.
2. They keep their opinions to themselves.
1. Unconditional love and faithfulness.
Meet My Girls:
ChiChi
Just look at that sweet little face, but don't let it fool ya!
Buffy
She's really old (ancient in people years!!) and has a severe case of the cherry eye. It's gotten much worse the older she gets but I'm afraid to put her through surgery.
What can you add to this list?

A Riddle and A Recipe
What do you get when you put one of these
and this
together?
Take a guess.....
Pumpkin bread, of course!
photo cred: here
This is another one of my favorite fall recipes. I got this one from a Southern Living mag, the most fab-u-lous mag, like, ever!
Don't be intimidated by all the ingredients. This one is really super easy! You just dump all the ingredients in a bowl, mix 'em up, pour them into baking pans, and bake. See, easy peasy!
This recipe makes three loaves so you have one to keep for yourself, and two to give as gifts!
Ingredients:
3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
3 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup water
4 large eggs
1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin
Directions:
Stir together flour and remaining ingredients in a large bowl until smooth.
Divide batter evenly among 3 greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pans.
Bake at 350° for 50 minutes to 1 hour or until wooden pick inserted into center of each loaf comes out clean.
Cool in pans on wire rack 10 minutes.
Remove from pans, and cool completely on wire rack.

5 Celebs That I Wish Were My Friends and Why
This is such a random post but I thought it would be fun. Here are 5 celebrities that I wish were my friends and why. : ) Enjoy!
Sandra Bullock-Love her sense of humor. She went for the bad boy and got burned. It’s been many moons ago but I can relate. Haven’t we all at one time or another? This is the girl that will be there for you when you’re drunk dialing guys or balling your eyes out and will be there in the trenches with you when you’re knee deep in something silly that you are old enough to know that you shouldn’t be doing. Like the time I purposely ran over a mean boy’s books with my car, my bff Kristi had my back. Can remember it just like yesterday. Lookin’ back, I shouldn’t have done it, but I did, so there.
Paula Deen-She’s like the cigarette smoking, potty mouthed, Jack Daniels drinking, throw down in the kitchen grandma you never had-or maybe you did?…(I totally made up the part about JD). But seriously, I read Paula’s autobiography and she rocks! Don't you just want to give her a big bear hug? It's a guarantee that when you stop by Paula's house after church on Sunday that something scrump-del-i-ish-ous is gonna be cooking in the kitchen.
Ian Somerhalder-Have you seen him??? This is one hotty, bad boy vamp. Love his sarcastic, yet witty sense of humor on screen and off. But sadly, bets are on that this friendship would be the kind where he’s my boy friend. Ya know, he’s a boy and he’s my friend but not my “boyfriend”. Kinda like my bff secret crush from third grade (Robert Tabor, are you one of my 67 followers???) that I was madly in love with even though he permed the back of his hair, kinda like a permed mullet but for third graders, and when we grew up he asked my sister out. *Sigh.* I’m digressing. I follow stalk Ian on Twitter…he just gets it. I appreciate that he has both beauty and brains.
Lady Gaga-I’d love to be her bff just to be able to know what is going on in this girlfriend’s head! And to stop her from wearing that meat dress to the MTV music awards. I mean, seriously, this girlfriend needs a bff that will tell her straight up that some of those outfits she steps out in just don't make sense. Ah, but we all have our faults, right? Besides, Gaga's got some pretty cool tunes.
Ellen DeGeneres-Ellen is so fun. I love her upbeat, positive attitude. We’d be a perfect balance for each other because I’m a see the glass half empty type of girl. Ellen is the type of friend that would be cool just to hang out with and chill on a Saturday night. You know, not really doing anything, just hanging out, but it'd still be a fun time because she's so crazy (in a good way!).
Who would be your celeb friends?
Or better yet, who ARE your celeb friends? Do you have any?

Crustless Pumpkin Pie Recipe
It's that time 'o year again so I thought I'd share with you this awesome, melt in your mouth recipe that I found several years ago for a pumpkin pie. I got this recipe from a Gooseberry Patch cookbook.
Totally random sidenote: Gooseberry Patch books are so fun!
This is not your traditional pumpkin pie, mind you. Once you try this, you won't ever go back to the traditional recipe! And it's so easy to make. Just throw everything in the pan and bake.
Photo credit can be found here.
Crustless Pumpkin Pie
4 eggs, beaten
15-oz. can pumpkin
12-oz. can evaporated milk
12-oz. can evaporated milk
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 t. pumpkin pie spice
1 t. salt
18-1/2 oz. pkg. yellow cake mix
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. butter, melted
Garnish: whipped topping, chopped walnuts, cinnamon or nutmeg
Combine eggs, pumpkin, evaporated milk, sugar, spice and salt.
Mix well and pour into an ungreased 13"x9" baking pan.
Sprinkle cake mix and nuts over top. Do not stir; they should just sit on top.
Drizzle with butter; again, do not stir.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to one hour, testing for doneness with a toothpick.
Serve with whipped topping sprinkled with nuts and cinnamon or nutmeg. A big 'ole dollap of Cool Whip is a must!
Makes 8 to 10 servings. I think it actually makes more than this. 10 servings at least.
Refrigerate leftovers (if you have any!)
We actually love this recipe the next day with vanilla ice cream on top. It's like the flavors have co-mingled overnight for an extra burst of flavor.
This recipe can easily be made ahead of time so that there's less stress in the kitchen on Thanksgiving day.
So yummy! You won't be disappointed.
I'd love to hear from you if you try this!

Did i Leave My Motivation with You?
Wow, has it really been a whole month since I’ve been here?? This month has been a whirlwind and I’m not even sure why. I’m in a bit of a funk, but that happens every now and then. Maybe it’s the winter weather coming on…I haven’t made hardly anything as far as the shop goes, and this is the time ‘o year to be workin’ my little fingers to the bone! Do you think that has me motivated? Nope…I have all these ideas in my head but when it comes to executing them, nothing. I go so far as to buy supplies but by the time I get home the thrill is gone.
I even bought hats for chinamommy’s hat drive but haven’t mailed them yet. I promise, they are coming.
Is procrastination an illness? My mom says I’m one of those people that starts things but doesn't finish them. She’s right. I tend to make decisions but after an excruciating amount of time making said decision, I second guess it. Do you ever want something so bad, but then you get it, and it’s not as exciting as you thought it would be? I’m not normal, am I? Lol.
I don't mean to be Debbie Downer so thanks for listening. :)

On an exciting front, this weekend I met up with my sweetie in Myrtle Beach, SC for a weekend rendezvous. Yeah, baby! He lives four hours away from me so it was exciting to see him. After hours of scouring the internet for somewhere to stay while at the beach, I still can't tell you where to stay, but I can certainly tell you where NOT to stay! Click here. Can you say roach motel? No, really, we saw them…in our room…that’s a little too close for comfort for me. I mean, you go places, you know that they might be there, but you don’t wanna see them. Am I right?
On Saturday, we did a little shopping at Bath & Body Works. Sure, I coulda done that at home but it wouldn’t have been with my sweetie. :) They have some really fun stuff for fall and the holidays-and their fall items are on sale now-even betta!
I got this stuff:
A smell good thing for my car. Isn't he super cute? He clips onto the sunvisor and smells fabu! It does take a little getting used to because this thing is super smelly-in a good way though.
And then I got this white owl ceramic oil warmer to make my house smell equally as fab-u-lous!
After shopping we hit the outdoor jacuzzi/hot tub. Honestly, I don't know the difference. The one-and only- awesome thing about our hotel was the pool area. It had a swim up bar, which I'm sure is pretty awesome in the summer. The jacuzzi/hot tub was outside overlooking the beach. It was nice and super relaxing. I even stayed in for 45 minutes, which is three times the time (can you say that three times fast?) that I was supposed to stay in. I tend to like things that are bad for me. :)
On Saturday night we went to the House of Blues to see Colbie Caillet. This is the second time we've seen her and both times she sounded awesome. She just seems so down to earth and fun-just like her music.
After the concert we partied like it was 1999 at club 2001. Ha ha, how fun is that sentence? It was so much fun dancing the night away. I haven't been out like that in oh, um, only forever!
How was your weekend?
