Friday Confessional

I've never been to confessional but figured what do I have to lose? :)

i confess...I've eaten Jimmy John's for lunch two days in a row. Not that I like them that much, but they deliver super fast, no questions asked and require only a pittance for the minimum delivery order. I really wish that Zaxby's delivered but that would be seriously dangerous.
i confess...my car is in the shop and i feel helpless. I hate dealing with car stuff. It's been doing weird things but I've put off getting it serviced. That pretty much remedied itself when I walked out of work yesterday and the car almost wouldn't start. It did, finally, and I made it home, on pins and needles all the way praying that it wouldn't just stop and leave me stranded. If it did I might just walk away and leave it there. Finders keepers...
i confess...I really want a new car.
i confess...even though I had Jimmy John's for lunch I'm eating Mexican for dinner. 
i confess...being fat and living in the hot South really, really sucks. Especially when the a/c in your car doesn't work. See confession #3 above.
i confess...I watched Inception last night for the first time and fell asleep.
i confess...I secretly hope that Robert Pattinson dumps Kristin Stewart. She obviously doesn't deserve him. Does that sister ever crack a real smile? Not that goofy-i really can't stand your ass-smirk that she does, but a real smile?

Bathroom Redo Teaser

So, I'm still working on updating my bathroom. 

We did make a lot of progress but need to do a little more sprucing up. I need to do a bit of touch up painting, frame the mirror, and I'm trying to decide whether I want to paint the cabinet. I'm leaning towards yes but painting is just not fun for me. 

Easy peasy, i think not!

I don't want to show you until it's done but here are a few teasers. :)

Parakeet Pete is the name of the paint I used on the walls. Fitting, don't ya think?  

This color is such a difference from the horror story red that was in there previously. I can actually see!

 

My shower curtain. I love, love, love it! Did I mention that I love it?

We Want to Know Wednesday...Celebrity Edition

The Lovely One asked: 
1.  What Disney character do you most resemble and why?
After much thought, and googling images of Disney characters :), I am going to say that I resemble the character Merida from Brave. Now, I haven't seen the movie, but what caught my attention is her hair. That girlfriend has got some crazy hair and unfortunately, I can relate!

And he even grew up to be a cutie! :)

And also Donnie Walhberg of New Kids on the Block. I know, I know, the bad boy.

Bad boy turned good. :) I still love me some Donnie!

3.  What celebrity would you love to be BFF with?

Sandra Bullock. She is hilarious. I think we are kindred spirits.  I especially love her in Two Weeks Notice and Miss Congeniality.

Ellen DeGeneres. Another hilarious lady and I love her love for animals.

Paula Deen. I just want her to cook for me. Plus, I've read her biography and this girlfriend has some stories to tell. :)

4.  Who is your celebrity look alike?

I've been told that I look like Ricki Lake pre Dancing With the Stars. Think back to when she had her talk show, especially when she had short hair and was chunky. We could've almost been twins. I'll have to see if I can hunt down a pic of me with short hair for a comparison. 

5.  Which celebrity/celebrity couple would you want to portray you/your honey in a movie about your life?

Hmm, I don't know. This one is hard. Maybe Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Never mind that we come from two different ethnic groups, but hey, it's 2012 right? They just seem so put together and so in love. I do hope that those divorce rumors that have been swirling around for a while are wrong!

Bathroom Redo: In Progress

I'm a sucker for a home makeover. I've been wanting to make some updates to my townhouse for a while now but wedding planning took first place. Well now that the wedding is done, I am in need of a project.

I decided that I wanted to start with my bathroom. For some reason I thought it would be an easy room to jump right in, but as it turns out I was wrong.

Basically I wanted to paint the walls and cabinet, frame out the mirror as seen here, and change the 1980's light fixture.

Well, long story short, one of the previous homeowners put up wall paper and then painted over it. Somehow the paper was tearing around where the shower rod is so in order to do this project right, that means that I gotta take down this painted over wallpaper. I'm thinking resale baby! I have been removing wallpaper for three days and am maybe halfway finished. So far I have tried the expensive solution from Home Depot and the fabric softener and water method. Believe it or not, the fabric softener and water method has worked the best.

Don't ask me how I'm going to get the wallpaper from behind the behemoth of a mirror as that is yet to be determined.

This is the current state of my bathroom. Gasp!

I prefer to work around everything rather than remove it, lol. And also note that huge place in the drywall that will need to be repaired!

I would have much rather been snoozin' like this little girl than attempting to remove wallpaper at 11 PM.

No idea yet what I'm going to do. Ya'll know I work best under pressure. My reveal date is the last date in August so I've got time to think. I'll just put these in the corner of my table and let the beads talk to me at their leisure. :)
