I Am Sooooo Rude! and Bead Soup Blog Party

Forgive me! I haven't even introduced my partner for the Bead Soup Blog Party that's going down tomorrow that went down this weekend.

Her name is Annette Rivers. You can learn all about her here and here. Owls are her thing so she quite appropriately calls herself "Mamaowl". I love it!

This is what I sent her:

Pssst: I stole this (above) pic from her blog!

This is what she sent me:

I know that lots of you came to my blog this weekend expecting to find my finished piece for Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Blog Party. Instead, you got crickets....or probably the flower tower post, am I right? I feel like I let everyone down. It is a little disappointing to come to someone's blog and they haven't posted their reveal yet.

You know that drama that Lori is so kind and patient and understanding about? Well, it visited me this weekend.

Friday morning, getting ready for work, I pull the celing fan cord to turn on the light. Instead of light, I get a loud Pop! noise. Great, I figure that the ceiling fan has gone bust.

I go to work that Friday, with every intention of finishing up my piece that evening and getting my post ready. When I get home, I noticed that I can't get on the internet. Basically, long story short, whatever happened that morning to the ceiling fan, also took out the overhead light in the adjoining room (my craft room/office/guest bedroom), and also some of the plug outlets in those rooms don't work. Since the router/computer was connected to one of the outlets that doesn't work I don't have internet at home. (I'm posting from work. shhhh!!!!).  To recap, no overhead light in two of the bedrooms, and four of the plug outlets in those two rooms don't work. Maybe I can move my router to one of the plugs that does work and at least get the internet going? All those plugs and connections are kinda scary, lol.

I hope to finish my piece and get everything together for this Saturday's third reveal. Honestly, this whole thing has me a little tramautized and crazy. I hate dealing with stuff like this and especially hate having to fork over who knows how much money this could cost. That could be beads and pretties, man!!!

Fingers crossed for me please!

A Flower Tower and Flower Box

I think it's finally starting to warm up here in NC. I caught the spring fever this weekend, and so did everyone else, from the looks of how busy Home Depot was!

I bought some plants and actually did a project that I saw on the internet. Usually I'm bad to get all gung ho on a project, run out and buy the supplies, and then do it halfway, or not at all. Lol.

But not this time! I made a flower tower. I'm hoping that the flowers will grow out be be all flowy and cascading down the tower. Don't mind the water marks on the pots, I took this pic after I watered it, so those marks will dry. I used petunias, verbena, and sweet potato vine. Fingers crossed that the verbena and sweet potato vine don't die on me since they were not on the list of plants that would be good for this type of project. I used them because I had them left over from another project that I did.

Speaking of other projects, I also made this flower box. I've always wanted a window box but never really quite understood how they stayed up. Lol. I'm hoping that this one gets all big and crazy. I can't wait for it to grow out. I'm always a little confused on spacing because it's hard to gauge just how big the flowers will get. My box is kinda leaning because the handle didn't quite fit snug against the railing. Actually I think it looks like it's leaning in the pic more than it actually is. Fingers crossed that it survives! I love it!

Has spring come to your neck of the woods?

I Had a Boogie

I had a boogie.

True story.

Most of us are able to keep these things under wraps...but here's my story.

I work in an office, and every Tuesday I sit at the front desk for an hour so the receptionist can go on her lunch break.

For some reason, when I first got up there something got me to sneezing!

I blew my nose and that was that.

Of course, it's the front desk, and it's lunch time, so lots of people are coming in and out. And being that it's the front desk and I'm the receptionist for an hour, I gotta talk and be social.

And these are my coworkers...not just random Joe's coming in off the street.

So, of course I'm talking to everyone...

"Blah, blah, blah, ha ha ha. Yeah girl, ha ha blah blah blah!"

Ya know, that kinda thing.

Well, when the receptionist came back from her lunch I went on mine. I get out to the car and look in the mirror, and to my dismay, there it is.

Really?? In the 60 minutes that I sat up there no one could tell me that I had a boogie?!

Lol.

So, when you see someone with a boogie do you spill the boogie (lol) or do you hush up and go about your business?

Random Thoughts

Random thoughts by moi!

And I'm linkin' up with Impulsive and Shawn for Talk to Us Tuesday!

'Cuz it's Tuesday and I feel like talkin'...

1. I have such a hard time keeping my mouth shut....but I'm gonna try the "My Momma" method. My momma always told me if someone doesn't have anything nice to say then don't say nuthin' at all. I'm trying really hard with the say nuthin' at all part, lol.

2.  I (still) want a new car! Sometimes It just seems as if there will never be "a good time" for one. This is the exact one I want. I fell in love with the HHR when I had to drive a rental car because some old guy plowed into mine. It is so roomy yet not super big and SUV like. *Sigh* I don't do well on the road with big cars, lol.

3.  Painting is hard work. I don't care how easy these domestic divas that stay home all day and blog about their home decor projects and crafts say it is, painting is super hard! Evidence in case is my still not quite finished bathroom. (I'm not hatin', but rather wishin' I was one of those domestic divas.)

4.  There's some reorgs (reorganization) going on at work. Who knows what will come out of that shakedown... (See #2!!!)

5.  Speaking of reorganizing, I'm trying to get my craft/office/guest bedroom in order. I just can't get it together. I've studied Pinterest and all the fabulousness on there and concluded that I just need a much bigger room! I'm slowly, turtle pace slowly, getting stuff out. Which takes me to random thought #6...

Check out my pinterest board to tell you the source for these images.

6.  I'm having a giveaway. Why does hardly anyone enter my giveaways?? I know ya'll are reading about them or else my google stats are lying to me, lol. I'm giving all this stuff away. Go here to enter. Go, right now!

7.  A friend of mine brought in doughnuts to work this morning. These things are huge. It almost takes up the whole plate which is six inches across! It was super yummy too. They came from a local mom and pop bakery here in town. Sooo good! I'm glad I gave in to the temptation. I already had two bites in before I thought to take a pic, lol.

8. I want to do this somewhere in my house. I don't care where...anywhere!

Now go check out what everyone else it talking about!

We Have a Winner!

I did this old school since only three people entered. Not sure how to take that?!
I'm giving away good stuff!...

Anyway, I wrote all three of yall's name down on piece(s) of paper and put them in my flower pot. As I was shaking them up, one of the papers hopped out on it's own so that's the one I used.

Emilee come on down girlfriend!

You are the winner.

She did have like five entries, so, ya know. :)

Email me your address within 24 hours please.

A Pink Giveaway!

I've started cleaning out my craft/guest room/home office so I'm giving more stuff away!

I've put together a package of baby girl themed items. Ya know, pink, pink, and more pink? These include scrapbooking stickers, embellishments, and charms. All kinds of crafty goodness that you can use for pretty much any crafty endeavor. I bought them with the intent to scrapbook some pics of my niece, who is now 10. So, it's time to purge! No, these things are not ten years old..maybe three or four, lol.

Even if you don't have a little gal of your own maybe you know someone that will soon be having one that these would make a great gift for?

No, I don't have a pic because my camera batteries died but this is a nice large package with super cute stuff. Pretty much all items are new. I'll try to get a pic tonight so you can see the stash. I can't promise though because Pretty Little Liars comes on tonight!! :)

UPDATE: With 15 minutes to spare before PLL, here is a pic!

So, leave me a comment and I will draw a winner tomorrow evening (Wednesday, 1/30/13).
For extra entries, like me on Facebook (LeeLu Creations), blog about me, twitter, become a blog follower if you're not already, ya know, doing all that extra social media stuff will get you extra entries. Just leave a comment telling me what you did.

Make sure you come back to my blog to see if you are a winner.

If I don't hear from you within 24 hours, I will draw another entry.

Sorry folks, I'm in purge mode so I gotta get this stuff out!!!

Also, I must limit entries to US only simply because shipping international packages is such a headache...or maybe I'm just a whiner, but it's my giveaway and I just can't deal with international shipping right now.

Good luck!

Tucson Design Team for ZNet Shows: What I Made

Imagine my surprise when out of the blue Bill Zhang of ZNet Shows contacted me to be on the Tucson Design team for an upcoming bead show. I'm thinking there must be a catch, but no, all I have to do is do my thang with the beads that they send me...free beads...for moi?! Heck yeah, I'm down! He and his team will choose their favorite designs and take them to Tucson to be displayed in their booth for all to see. Cool!

The mix that they sent everyone consists of cultured sea glass beads. Everyone's mix was different so it will be fun to see what everyone designed!

For now, here's what I made:

This is my mix!

Bracelet made with Sea Glass (of course), Pewter butterfly and pewter rounds.

Long, boho chic necklace made with sea glass rounds, a 40x30 stone pendant, and a patina'd charm.

Earrings made with filigree round beads and triangle sea glass.
Will you believe that this is the only pic I got of these because they fell off the table while I was snapping pics and points broke right off? Ack!! And I thought these were the coolest earrings. They are glass...and they fell onto my tile floor so, ya know. :(

Ya'll know vintage is my first love! These earrings are made with vintage opal navettes and matte sea glass tulip beads.

Starfish earrings made with filigree bead caps and matte tulip beads.

Round domed sea glass beads with petite vintage daisies. Romantic yet mod?

I hope Bill and team (and you!) like what I made.

FINALLY: The Holiday Bling Blog Hop 2 Reveal

So, I turned into that girl...

...that girl that signs up for a blog hop and then totally misses all the deadlines.

Ya know, the one who is supposed to post what she's made on a decided date and then everyone gets to her blog and nothing....nada...crickets...or rather it's some other random blog post but not the one about what she made.

Yep, that's me.

I've participated in other blog hops where above scenario has happened to someone else and I would think to myself, "Really? How could they not find the time to take a pic and write a blog post in between the other 5,992 things they have to do? Scheduled post...hello????" And then I would click away from their blog as fast as possible in disgust...

Lol. Well, I participated in the Holiday Bling Blog Hop hosted by Shelley Graham Turner and Marlene Cupo and like I said, managed to miss all the deadlines and just be that annoying girl. I would not blame Shelley and Marlene if I were forever banned for playing with them ever again!

I was paired with Shelley. I know, I know, how can you screw up a blog hop when you're paired with one of the hostesses?? I'll be honest, between work and the holidays I just ran out of steam. I had my ornament made and sent but just fell apart when it came to the blog post. Shameful, I know!

Anyhoo, we could make either jewelry or ornaments. I suggested we make ornaments since I already make jewelry so Shelley was cool with that. But shortly after I suggested it, I thought to myself, "Well missy, you haven't made an ornament since kindergarten so what are you gonna do?" Somewhere I came across the cutest felted owl ornaments so I went with that. :)

Sorry about the pic. It was taken with my phone at work right before I was getting ready to ship him out. Plus, I work in a dungeon so the lighting sucks.

I've also included what Shelley sent to me. It's a snowman ornament made out of polymer clay (i think). I didn't take a pic before packing all my holiday stuff up so I'm borrowing Shelley's pic from her blog (i hope that's ok Shelley!). Isn't her ornament just fabu? My first thought was "You MADE this???" I totally love it. This gal is super fabu. Ya'll should check out her blog and shop.

photo cred, here

Below is the list of participants, so please stop by their blogs and check them out. Of course, at this point you might have to search for the post, lol. At least check out their blogs and see what they are up to now.
