New Items and a Treasury!

It's been forever since I listed new items in the shop.

I've made some items but just haven't been posting.

...And then I looked around at jewelry in every nook and cranny of the house and realized that a gal can only wear so much, so hopefully I can sell some stuff if I list my new items. :)

Taking pictures good pictures is hard for me. Mine always seem to have a yellowish background. Guess it's the lighting? Such is life when you work full time and the sun has gone down before you get home...no natural light to work with.

While I'm digressing, remember the other day when I told you my sweetie sent me flowers for Valentine's Day? He sent me a bouquet of tulips and they smell absolutely wonderful! I never knew that tulips were so scented. I kept the flowers at work since I spend more time there than at home, it seems.

Here are my new items:

Wire wrapped hot pink jade pendant made with non tarnishing artisan wire on a silver plated chain.

And here is a starfish and wire wrapped chalcedony pendant, also made with non tarnishing artisan wire on a silver plated chain.

And a hot pink treasury that I made! I love me some hot pink. Can you tell? :)

What do you think of my new wire wrapped items?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is the holiday that people either love it, or hate it, am i right?

For me, it's just kinda meh.

I mean, why should I need a holiday to buy my sweetie a gift? I did, however, have flowers waiting on me when i got to work from my sweetie. I'll be the envy of all the gals today. :)

As with most holidays, it's become very commercialized...and don't even attempt to go out to dinner on Valentine's Day!

So, tonight, it will be just me and my girls snuggling on the couch.

How will you be spending your Valentine's Day?

Housework is Evil

So, basically I feel this way about housework and cleaning in general...

But, since it's almost the weekend, i usually do my cleaning and household chores on Saturday...that is, in between visiting the craft and thrift store, catnapping, and everything else. I'd much rather be doing anything than housework, so whatever else comes up usually trumps cleaning.

Now, my bff Krusty, that girl is a cleanin' machine. I so wish I was like her in this regard.  She has the kind of house that you can just drop by anytime and it's immaculate. Now me, on the other hand, there is no just dropping by at my house. I have to know in advance....days, sometimes weeks, in advance, lol.

I live alone so I can pretty much get away with not being the neatest person.  Buffy and ChiChi don't mind too much.

But, I feel as if I'm ALWAYS cleaning. Is there a system for us lazy folks that don't like to clean?

Now, I hope that ya'll are not envisioning my house as a pig sty. It's just that after a long day at the office, the first thing on my mind is not that stack of laundry sitting on the dining room table.  Seriously...my dining room table looks like this...

...And it drives me crazy! My dining room table always has laundry (and/or craft projects) on it. I don't mind washing it, or even folding it up, but it's that putting away part that doesn't quite happen. Maybe 'cuz my washer/dryer are downstairs and the rooms are upstairs?

How do you tame the housework beast? Suggestions, please!

Another Satisfied Customer!

Before Christmas I received an email from one of my sister's co-workers asking whether I could make a mermaid necklace for her teenage daughter.

Moi?

But of course!

The only requirements were that she wanted to see the mermaid's face and it be blue...

Hmmm....ok.

Immediately I set to work, scouring Etsy for only the best of the best mermaid pendants.

This is what I came up with...

The porcelain cameo pendant is set in a lace edge brass setting, which I then put on another scalloped edge brass setting just to give it that extra somethin', somethin'. The hand beaded chain is made with blue and white glass beads. I love how they "glow" when the light hits them. I finished it off with a super cute little sand dollar.

And they sent me this pic of her daughter wearing it with a note that it was her favorite Christmas present!

That's right folks, another satisfied customer. :)

Wedding Quilt

Last night I couldn't sleep. Suddenly i woke up after only a couple hours of shut eye and couldn't go back to sleep after that. I laid there, in the dark, for like, hours! Until it was almost time to get up, then I fell asleep and did not want to get up when it was time!

I've got a lot on my mind lately. I'm getting married in May, so saying that I've got a lot on my mind is an understatement! I've got all these projects and ideas floating around in my head and just hoping that my creative vision comes together on the big day, and doesn't just look random.

So, the other night, my eyes flew open and I decided that I simply must have this at my wedding. Basically it's fabric squares that your guests write on and then you (or someone, lol) makes it into a quilt for you to have forever, and ever. Some people use them as their guest sign in book but I think I'm going to ask people to write advice or well wishes on it. It's funny, because I've seen these throughout all the wedding blogs that I stalk but didn't think much about it. But then one random night, i simply woke up and decided that i MUST have one of these. Wouldn't this be an awesome keepsake?

Have you ever done that-Awaken with something on your mind that you simply must do?!
